The pan-European Network of Competence Centers (CC) on Robotics
Setting-up of the regional CC ROBOFLEX in Slovenia

Slovenian Competence Centre ROBOFLEX (CC ROBOFLEX)  is is an integral part of the EU program HORIZON 2020 funded innovation project, titled:  “Smart Integrated Robotics System for SMEs Controlled by Internet of Things based on Dynamic Manufacturing Processes (HORSE Project).  The HORSE Project primary goals are:

  • The introduction of new flexible, collaborative robot pilot experiments-applications for the needs of selected manufacturing SMEs from Spain, Netherlands, and Poland,
  • Design, technical validation, and set-up of related technology framework,
  • Implement an open call for new manufacturing SMEs and widely disseminate project outcomes and
  • Initiate development of a pan-European network of robotics competence centers in France, Germany, Netherlands, and Slovenia for the creation of regional “One-Stop Shop” centers with the mission to support SMEs and other stakeholders by providing them the EU network of technology access points.
In this project participate fifteen (15) partners from seven (7) EU countries. It has started in 2015 and will last four years. The project coordinator is the European Dynamics Advanced Systems of Telecommunications Informatics and Telematics SA
LENS Living Lab – INTESO Group is a partner in the CC ROBOFLEX  Industry Consortia responsible for the development, start-up, and operations for this regional “One-Stop-Shop”  service and it’s innovation ecosystem development for cognitive robotic technologies in Slovenia. The CC ROBOFLEX co-organizers who signed long-term consortia agreement in March 2017 are:
  • Toolmakers Cluster of Slovenia (TCS) representing regional advanced manufacturing industry companies, R&D organizations, regional providers of industrial engineering and support services. They are providing products and services for EU automotive industry, custom designed machinery and equipment for different industries, high-tech manufacturing services, industrial engineering services, etc.).  The legal representative of TCS is a non-profit organization Zavod -TCS owned by the group of TCS members. The primary business functions of Zavod C-TCS are networking and lobbying for industry development interests, providing project office services for industry innovation and development projects funded by different regional and EU funding programs. Zavod C-TCS is co-founder and legal address of the CC ROBOFLEX responsible for its INFO Center, Project Office Services and coordination of  CC ROBOFLEX operations performed by involved industry partners;
  • LENS Living Lab (3L) is a global open research and innovation community enabled and supported by the group of ICT companies partnering with INTESO Group and legally presented by INTESO Solutions Ltd. The INTESO Group Partners’ mission is to provide critical communication technologies needed for the high demanding industries, services, and their virtual organization set-ups (security, logistics, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, service industries and open innovation communities). Interoperability, availability, safety, and security are the main issues of INTESO Group products and solutions based on the mix of cloud computing services (CSS), cyber-physical systems (CPS) and radio communication technologies.  3L is INTESO Group’s virtual open innovation living laboratory for prototyping, piloting, testing and starting-up of different open innovation collaboration platforms, co-organized with the international innovation ecosystem business partners.  The development of new Industry 4.0 enabling technologies with supporting open innovation ecosystems, and acquisition of new competencies are 3L primary tasks. Partnering in the co-founded CC ROBOFLEX initiative is an example of such efforts, where 3L is responsible for modeling, development, and coordination of CC ROBOFLEX innovation ecosystem collaboration platform, ICT services, and its digital ecosystem coordination.
  • ETRA Ltd (ETRA) provides services of robotics system development and integration for the needs of clients coming from different industries. It is an official partner of KUKA and certified partner of  ABB and FANUC, the global providers of robots. ETRA is the third co-founder of CC ROBOFLEX responsible for its Demonstration Center.

  • Organizer of the “regional value space” for promotion, demonstration and implementation of advanced robotics systems for the needs of  manufacturing SMEs and their business ecosystems,
  • Demonstrate, promote and support the introduction of advanced robotics systems and solutions in the manufacturing SMEs value chains and their business ecosystems,
  • Promote, enable and support regional and international collaboration with industry-academy research and development of new robotic systems and applications and
  • Development and utilization of new business models of sustainable partnering and collaboration in the areas of recognized interests
CC ROBOFLEX Vision
To be known as regional "one-stop shop" service  and digital innovation hub for advanced cognitive robotic technologies and supporting services for the needs of manufacturing SMEs and their stakeholders – as an integral part of the pan-European network of competence centers from this area

 CC ROBOFLEX Innovation Ecosystem
CC ROBOFLEX innovation ecosystem collaboration platform is open to all regional and international partners from industry, academy, related professional and business communities as the regional value space for their needs, regarding information, offering or searching for specific services and innovation partnering initiatives.  In progress are first collaborative agreements with partners from regional and international CC ROBOFLEX innovation ecosystem.  CC ROBOFLEX official introduction in the region will be in September 2017.

HORIZON 2020 – Work programme 2018-2020 in the area of Industry 4.0.
Within EU HORIZON 2020 Work program 2018-2020, Industry 4.0 issues are defined within focus area: Digitising and transforming European industry and services.
 
This focus area aims to achieve:
  • Enabling all sectors and application areas to adapt, transform and benefit from digitization
  • Developing industrial strategies, including new business models
  • Connecting to Member States and regions
  • Removing barriers for innovation enabled by digitization
  Key components of digitizing European industry are:
  • Digital Innovation Hubs
  • Cross-sectorial and integrated digital platforms and large-scale pilots for experimentation and co-creation with users
  In this area TCS with LENS Living Lab is active within H2020 – 2015 project »HORSE«, which is oriented on the deployment of robotics to SMEs.
 
Within work program 2018-2020, TCS with LENS Living Lab will be active within projects, focused on the development of Digital Innovation Hubs, especially in the area of Robotics, with special emphasis on human-robot cooperation and industrial SME use of robotics in production.

LENS Living Lab International Events in 2017
PM&KM Festival in Odense, 2-3. October 2017
In the last ten years The Society of Danish Engineers, IDA, in collaboration with LENS Living Lab organized a creative and innovative event in Odense, Denmark, where Project Managers and knowledge workers meet, exchange ideas and experiences for the further development of a shared vision of future trends in Project Management and Innovation.
The form of the meeting is a combination of seminars and workshops guided by experienced coaches. So the participants will learn from the exchange and development of concrete ideas, but also from how the working group process is executed.
The event has lead to significant new partnerships between new innovative start-up’s, Virtual collaboration between globally distributed partners, new business models for handling complex virtual projects and programs as well as new knowledge about Project Management.
The next event will take place in Odense, Denmark on the 2nd and 3rd of October 2107.
The speakers and coaches will be leading experienced academics and practitioners with an international background.
 
The agenda, in brief, will be:
 Monday 2nd. October:  High-Performance virtual project teams and innovation  communities
The objective of the workshop is to discuss: how globally distributed project teams crossing cultural borderlines facing new technologies, can succeed in effective communication on personal, technical and organizational levels.
Content: 
 Virtual global organizations, Cultural barriers, and opportunities, coaching of teams, technical barriers and opportunities, communication, the case from European/Asian collaborative project.
 
 Tuesday 3rd October:  The Project efficient organization and virtual   communities
 The objective of the workshop is to discuss: How globally distributed and virtual organizations can meet challenges from new radical changes in technology, political trends as anti- globalization, disruptive business models. Will the virtual project oriented organization based on knowledge exchange and collaborative innovation across national borderlines be an answer?
Content: 
The Virtual Project Office as a core node for knowledge exchange and execution of innovative projects and programs. From Project Management to    portfolio& Program management, from phase modeling to agile project execution, the Project Excellent model as an assessment, learning and developing a tool. A case from a Virtual Project Office.

Project & Technology Management Foundation (PTMF) has signed MOU with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), a leading educational Institute offering training and development program in entrepreneurship under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India having its campus at Lalmati, Guwahati-781029, Assam for organising certificate courses on various identified program including project management, digital marketing, strategic cost management, data analytics for business decisions, performance management to be offered to students , teachers, marketers, small business owners and entrepreneurs. In course of time other relevant courses and skill development programs will also be identified and offered to the target segment.
PTMF will be responsible for course development and delivery and IIE will manage the program as per the MOU. The MOU also provides for working together on socio-economic programs, joint collaborative research and consulting activities.
In the month of June 2017 courses on Project Management and Digital Marketing will be launched. The certificate will be jointly offered by PTMF and IEE.
The agreement was signed by Mr Manoj K Das, Director IIE and Prof (Dr) Rajat K Baisya, President PTMF in a simple ceremony held at IIE at Guwahati on 18th April 2017.
The details of the course structure and program schedule will be announced shortly.
