Slovenian Competence Centre ROBOFLEX (CC ROBOFLEX) is is an integral part of the EU program HORIZON 2020 funded innovation project, titled: “Smart Integrated Robotics System for SMEs Controlled by Internet of Things based on Dynamic Manufacturing Processes (HORSE Project). The HORSE Project primary goals are:
- The introduction of new flexible, collaborative robot pilot experiments-applications for the needs of selected manufacturing SMEs from Spain, Netherlands, and Poland,
- Design, technical validation, and set-up of related technology framework,
- Implement an open call for new manufacturing SMEs and widely disseminate project outcomes and
- Initiate development of a pan-European network of robotics competence centers in France, Germany, Netherlands, and Slovenia for the creation of regional “One-Stop Shop” centers with the mission to support SMEs and other stakeholders by providing them the EU network of technology access points.
In this project participate fifteen (15) partners from seven (7) EU countries. It has started in 2015 and will last four years. The project coordinator is the European Dynamics Advanced Systems of Telecommunications Informatics and Telematics SA
LENS Living Lab – INTESO Group is a partner in the CC ROBOFLEX Industry Consortia responsible for the development, start-up, and operations for this regional “One-Stop-Shop” service and it’s innovation ecosystem development for cognitive robotic technologies in Slovenia. The CC ROBOFLEX co-organizers who signed long-term consortia agreement in March 2017 are:
- Toolmakers Cluster of Slovenia (TCS) representing regional advanced manufacturing industry companies, R&D organizations, regional providers of industrial engineering and support services. They are providing products and services for EU automotive industry, custom designed machinery and equipment for different industries, high-tech manufacturing services, industrial engineering services, etc.). The legal representative of TCS is a non-profit organization Zavod -TCS owned by the group of TCS members. The primary business functions of Zavod C-TCS are networking and lobbying for industry development interests, providing project office services for industry innovation and development projects funded by different regional and EU funding programs. Zavod C-TCS is co-founder and legal address of the CC ROBOFLEX responsible for its INFO Center, Project Office Services and coordination of CC ROBOFLEX operations performed by involved industry partners;
- LENS Living Lab (3L) is a global open research and innovation community enabled and supported by the group of ICT companies partnering with INTESO Group and legally presented by INTESO Solutions Ltd. The INTESO Group Partners’ mission is to provide critical communication technologies needed for the high demanding industries, services, and their virtual organization set-ups (security, logistics, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, service industries and open innovation communities). Interoperability, availability, safety, and security are the main issues of INTESO Group products and solutions based on the mix of cloud computing services (CSS), cyber-physical systems (CPS) and radio communication technologies. 3L is INTESO Group’s virtual open innovation living laboratory for prototyping, piloting, testing and starting-up of different open innovation collaboration platforms, co-organized with the international innovation ecosystem business partners. The development of new Industry 4.0 enabling technologies with supporting open innovation ecosystems, and acquisition of new competencies are 3L primary tasks. Partnering in the co-founded CC ROBOFLEX initiative is an example of such efforts, where 3L is responsible for modeling, development, and coordination of CC ROBOFLEX innovation ecosystem collaboration platform, ICT services, and its digital ecosystem coordination.
- ETRA Ltd (ETRA) provides services of robotics system development and integration for the needs of clients coming from different industries. It is an official partner of KUKA and certified partner of ABB and FANUC, the global providers of robots. ETRA is the third co-founder of CC ROBOFLEX responsible for its Demonstration Center.
